Bidborough

Bidborough is a pretty Kentish Weald village 5 miles north of Tunbridge Wells and 3 miles south of Tonbridge, surrounded by open countryside and sprawling woodland. Its easy access to main line stations and motorways makes it an idyllic commuter hotspot.

You will find a mix of period residential properties; period houses, sympathetic new builds, Grade II listed buildings, converted barns, mill houses and even a windmill and the converted country house Bidborough Court for apartment style living.

Local Life

Whether its equestrian pursuits, off-road cycling, walking or simply discovering history and nature Bidborough is ideally situated. After all that activity a stop at the award winning, traditional weather boarded Kentish Hare gastro pub and restaurant is a must. It showcases the best of Kentish produce.  

The village has its own cricket club, team sport recreation grounds, a tennis court and bowling green. The village hall is a hub of events, activities, the summer fete and a meeting place for the various local clubs and the village nursery. The village shop is well stocked, a garage and several schools in the surrounding area.

Bidborough is ideally positioned to enjoy neighbouring Southborough, Speldhurst, Penshurst, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells amenities. Within a short drive you can find Haysden Country Park for lake and woodland walks, cycle paths and Tonbridge Town sailing club. Next door is Barden Lake, a large mixed fishery run by The Tonbridge Angling Club & Fish Preservation Society for keen or novice anglers. Park Run also use the lakes for weekend events. Do not leave either lake without an outdoor breakfast at Café in the Park. For the very keen cyclist VO2 Maximum Racing Team is an established Triathlon Club or for budding rock climbers Clip & Climb the indoor climbing centre are also based in Tonbridge. Golf enthusiasts can play a round locally at Nizels golf club or at Tonbridge and Hever courses. Close by historic Tonbridge Castle hosts year-round events, outdoor theatre, festivals, open air cinema to mention a few. Travel

Popular with commuters, the journey to London Charing Cross via Tonbridge station is around 45 minutes by rail or to Tunbridge Wells for the South Coast. By car you are a short distance from the A21 dual carriageway which offers a direct link onto the M25 London Orbital motorway M25, M26 and M20. There are regular bus services from the village to both Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.
